When should I plant my seeds?

The only way to become a successful gardener is to arm yourself with knowledge such as, when to plant, where to plant and when to harvest.  There are other factors to consider as well, like what not to plant next to each other.  For instance, did you know you shouldn't plant potatoes and tomatoes next to each other as they would fight for the same nutrients?
